Weekend Reading 47

Vote in the Facebook poll to choose a question for SPM: http://www.facebook.com/SPM.Aftermath

Also, check out this blog post from Simple Justice about the laws used to keep credibility-affecting evidence from juries in rape or molestation cases:

"The case against Halter was built solely on the testimony of his daughters, with no forensic evidence behind it. The basic "she said, he said," scenario, coupled with the prejudice favoring a child and against an adult, favoring a female and against a male. While this doesn't mean it couldn't happen, it also doesn't mean it did."

Does any one remember the post wher SPM says something like, someone raised in pain will look pain and someone raised with love will look for love

I have a question about the youtube The True Story Behind The SPM Conviction/Free SPM. In the video it said that the only reason why SPM when out with the 14 year old was because he though at the time that she was 18. It also mentions that she told her employer that she was 18 so she could work as a strip bar (in fact that were SPM met her). With the information that he has now why can SPM sue that 14 year old(now a woman) for false Identification, he can back it up with the Employer as a witness. Just Saying.

Uriel: Thank you so much for your help! I fixed it.

The Allen Cowling post as well has the light font.

Incandesio: why won't you answer my question.

RockyD. said...

Incandesio: I would really like your opinion on this subject.

Incandesio said...

Rocky:

Sorry it's taken me so long to respond;I don't know much about that case, because it was never prosecuted. Carlos Coy wasn't convicted of it, and although the girl testified at his trial, I don't know if she was used to help his case or hurt it.

I don't think a minor can be sued for misrepresenting their age, and I don't know if she was really working at a strip club or not.

I have seen the YouTube video you mentioned, but I didn't make it, so I can't say if it's true or not.

... Ruiz's Taint too

Incandesio: I am sorry but I am a little confused, let me put it another way. Why do you think that spm should be free in your own words and from the information that you gather about the case.

RockyD:
I'm afraid you've lost me; what does that have to do with your original question?

You said "With the information that he has now why can SPM sue that 14 year old(now a woman) for false Identification, he can back it up with the Employer as a witness. Just Saying."

RockyD. said...

Also, from the information that I have from the houston press it said that an woman named Jill Odom stated that spm would pick her up after school when she was I 7th grade, and may I add that she had a child at 14 that was proven positive to be coy's baby. She talk about this subject in court to distroy any credible that spm had. This and the information gather from the 9 year old and possibly even more women that came forward in court was in fact the smoken gun that the state needed to lock up coy. The state of texes really did their homework. How come you did not know about this? I though that you would know more about the case. Again I will ask you why do you think that spm should be out of prison?

RockyD. said...

Incandeio: If the striper story was true why didn't spm stated that in court. If he didn't know that the kid was really 13 he should have said something about it.

RockyD. said...

Why did he pick her up from school if coy did not know that she was under age?

Incandesio said...

Really, RockyD? You're going to come in here unprepared, unarmed, and demand I answer questions that

a) have already been raised
or
b) have nothing to do with Coy's conviction?

If you want to prove that I'm wrong, then do it, but first you might want to figure what I'm arguing.

RockyD. said...

Hey wait, didn't you say that you didn't know nothing about case? Incandesio, sweetheart, then how can you say for sure that had nothing to do with coy's conviction, I may not be clear on some of my question but you said " I did not know much about this case". Can I say something just between us girls this whole website is very misleading. How can this website states facts on coy case if you don't know much about this case.

Incandesio said...

RockyD:

You say my blog is misleading; well then, let me immediately disabuse you of the notion that it is intended in any way to address the case involving Jill Odom.

As you can see repeated on these pages, I have little interest in that case because it was never prosecuted.

You can scream that Coy impregnated an underage girl for as long as you want, and you’ll find I never disagree with you. It happened. That being said, it doesn’t affect my opinion of the case he was convicted of.
If you want to talk about that then I’m interested. Otherwise, run along.

RockyD. said...

Incandesio: I don't think that you should be talking about this case if you are not really sure about it. It just make you look like a dumbass. I bet that the only reason that you made this whole blog page is because you want to feel important.

RockyD. said...

Ok,then did he know that she was underage? Yes or No and read this houston press web site before you anwser

RockyD. said...

Read this part from the houston press

At this point, Coy's penchant for an underage girl was merely an obscure civil matter, not the stuff of criminal charges for what amounted to statutory rape. Odom said the rapper may not have known her specific age. That argument was hard to accept, however. He did know she was only a middle school student, because he used to pick her up after her seventh-grade classes. Still, it could have been explained away as a onetime error in judgment during a troubled period in his life.

Answer my question: Did he or did he not know that that girl was underage?

I will leave you alone if you can answer the question with a yes or no.

RockyD: You said “Incandesio: I don't think that you should be talking about this case if you are not really sure about it. It just make you look like a dumbass.”

So your contention is that searching for knowledge makes me look like a dumbass, and looking like a dumbass is worse than choosing to remain a dumbass…?

You said: “I bet that the only reason that you made this whole blog page is because you want to feel important.”

Right, because nothing breeds respect like defending a man convicted of molesting a child.

You said: “Ok,then did he know that she was underage? Yes or No and read this houston press web site before you answer”

I’ve read it; in fact, I’ve written about it. If you want my opinion, you can find it here:

If you want to read Carlos Coy’s take on it, go here:

Or will reading someone else’s opinion make you look like too much of a dumbass?

Incandesio said...

RockyD, you said: "Answer my question: Did he or did he not know that that girl was underage?"

I cangive you my opinion, which is that no, he didn’t know her age. Is that really going to be enough to satisfy you, though? You seem pretty invested in the truth of the Houston Press article.

RockyD. said...

I don't buy it. The guy pick her up from middle school. Still you say Coy didn't know. I don't believe it. OK, that is you opinion on subject, and have my opinion. we agree to disagree.

Incandesio said...

Glad I could help.
