It has been extremely cool to watch the preparations commencing for SPM's 'Day of Unity', and the release of The S.O.N. Dope House hosted a preliminary meeting on 8/24, and it looks like it went very well. There is video of some volunteers handing out flyers here.
I want to tell those of you who have just found the blog, and remind those of you who have been around awhile, that by advocating justice for Carlos Coy we are speaking out for the rights of every citizen. No matter your position on his guilt or innocence, a cursory examination of Coy's trial reveals disquieting truths about his case, and Harris County's justice system in general.
A few examples include how testimony changed during the trial itself in SPM Responds 8 ...testimony about the family of the accuser that never did make it's way into the criminal trial, but was laid out at the civil trial in SPM Responds 12 ...and questions about whether or not Coy was even physically capable of committing act he was convicted for in The Neverending Letter part 2
I believe that Coy is innocent, but I freely admit that I can't prove it.What can be proven, and one day, God willing, will be proven, is that his trial was not just. If the verdict is allowed to stand in this case, or in the many like it all over Texas, we're accepting that injustice is acceptable, as long as it gives us the illusion of safety. Please, add your voice to those already committed to saying no.

i just want to remind some of you younger generation... this is a peaceful protest so NO FLIPPING OVER CARS and anything else involving vandalism or violence.. otherwise carry on
I remember when i was young. I went to one of his trials. It was ignorant of the attorney from the prosecuter trying to use his lyrics against carlos. The song they were using as an example was ghetto tales. On verse 1. I was like really? Hasnt this person done her research. It was A.C Chill who wrote that. Not carlos. If an actor or actress always plays a role of being a killer does that really make him one? Thats what they were trying to say about carlos. Dont forget the judge was running for reelection. Im sure he needed something good to look on him. Dope House class of 2000-2003
i wish that i could be there because i strongly agree with what you are saying and i do hope everthing works out for the best...i also beleive thay S.P.M Carlos Coy was mistreated and i still beleive that he deserves a new trial with much respect and love
I cant b there either since im from out of state, but I do hope it goes well and stays peaceful without incident. I will say a prayer for los and his family on the day of unity and I cant wait to see it when someone posts it on youtube.
CARLOS Coy has changed my life from the first song to the last. I pray for him to have a justified outcome on his situation. Much love and respect for people doing everything they can to show the public what this man is really about.
I dont believe it. Doesn't add up and if it was an easy door shut case then the irregularities wouldnt exist. I too hope he gets a fair trial and he has been locked away for a large portion of life based on a shotty trial (not saying he is innocent or guilty)

I think she kept trying to tell ppl she didnt kno if it was real during trial. But who knows. I know her mom kept sticking to the story tho when asked to comment when he released when devils strike. But im also rly rly curious to know what they have to say or how they feel about this day of unity thing. Im not sure how it couldn't haunt her!
Their isnt any proof of her stating that just hearsay . There are immense differences in the story told in the criminal trial and the civil trial.
SPM wouldn't throw his life away by messing with a girl he was making good music and was successful he was my role model in the ghetto free SPM
